Carotid Artery Disease (Stroke)

Are You At Risk For Stroke?About Stroke & Carotid Artery Disease

Could you have a stroke and become disabled, or die, without any warning? Unfortunately, the answer is yes, since more than 75% of strokes occur without any symptoms or warning signs(1). The good news is that a simple, low cost and safe screening test can identify hidden symptoms in time for intervention that could prevent a stroke. Even better news, up to 80% of strokes are preventable; you can prevent a stroke(2)!

Stroke screening looks at the carotid arteries that supply blood from the heart, through the neck, to the brain, and can identify deposits of fatty substances or cholesterol that could break loose and travel to the brain. If small pieces of these substances reach the brain and block arteries, they can cause a sudden loss of muscle function, vision loss or impaired speech.

Stroke Screening

Futura’s stroke screening is quick, painless and non-invasive. A simple ultrasound procedure where an ultrasound probe is moved over the outside of the neck takes only about 10 to 15 minutes.

After your screening is complete, a preliminary report is provided to you; then results are discussed, accompanied with recommendations and take-home educational materials. Later, results will be further reviewed by Futura’s industry-leading medical team, and these results will be mailed to you and your physician in just a few days. If we do find anything of concern, we will contact your physician immediately to explain our findings.

Scheduling and Cost

Screening does not require a referral from your physician or submission of a claim to your insurance company. Stroke screening, including all analysis and delivery of results to you and your physician, is $45. (If multiple screenings are recommended, discounts are available.)

Most major credit cards are accepted. To schedule a screening at one of our convenient locations, contact Futura at (425) 398-7797, (509) 249-5333 or toll-free at (866) 486-4882, or complete the on-line scheduling form.
